YouTube TV Adds More Channels & Increases Price To $40 per Month


Since its launch in April 2017, YouTube TV has seen its subscribers grown to over 300,000, covering nearly 100 markets. If you have been considering a subscription to YouTube TV, today is the subscription is no longer $35/month. Yesterday the monthly subscription plan was raised to $40, according to an announcement made by Google last month. Those who subscribed at the old rate will continue to enjoy the $5 price difference.

New YouTube TV Channels

The price increase will also see additional channels added to the live streaming service, including TBS, Turner Classic Movies, TNT, Cartoon Network, NBA TV, CNN, Adult Swim, truTV, and MLB Network. The new price puts YouTube TV in the league of competitors like Hulu’s live TV plan and Sony’s PlayStation Vue.

There are other cheaper options such as DirecTV Now and Sling TV but with fewer options compared to their high-priced counterparts.

YouTube TV gives subscribers free DVR options, allowing users to record and save unlimited amount of programs for about nine months.
