Who Is Hosting Saturday Night Live In December 2017


The year is coming to and end and so is this season of SNL. If you love the iconic sketch comedy show you don’t want to miss out on an episode.

Dec 2. Saoirse Ronan

If you missed it, the December 2nd episode was hosted by first-timer Saoirse Ronan. Known for her roles in Brooklyn, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hanna, and Lady Bird, Saoirse has received many accolades for her amazing work. It is therefore not surprising that she was selected by SNL to host.


Though born in New York, Saoirse Ronan was raised in Ireland, and the musical host to join her would be none other than U2. The band’s 14th album “Songs of Experience” was released on December 1st. The lucky audience was able to witness a number of brand new U2 songs in the intimate environment of Studio 8H.

There are two episodes of SNL left before the end of the year and they are shaping up to be awesome.

Dec 9. James Franco


On December 9th, James Franco will be returning to SNL for the fourth time as a host. The last time James Franco graced the stage of Saturday Night Live was in 2014. He’s making a triumphant return to promote his new film The Disaster Artist. The Disaster Artist chronicles the making of the of Tommy Wiseau’s cult film, The Room. It debuts the weekend of December 8th.

Franco is a long-time favorite at SNL. In 2008 Lorne Michaels allowed him to shoot a documentary titled Saturday Night. Saturday Night is behind the scenes look at the production process of SNL. It takes place between December 1st–6th 2008 while John Malkovich hosted an episode. It follows the entire process from the sketch pitches to the building of sets and finally the dress rehearsal and live show.

SZA, the musical guest, will be joining Franco. SZA’s album, “Ctrl”, hit #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and has a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. You definitely want to tune in for this.

Dec 16. Kevin Hart


The Christmas episode of the season will air on December 16th. It will be hosted by world renowned comedian Kevin Hart. On top of being an undeniable comedic talent, Hart is an experienced actor. His latest movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,is coming to theaters on December 20. There’s a possibility his Jumanji co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black might be making an appearance.

Joining Hart as the musical guest are the Foo Fighters, who will be making their seventh appearance on the series. The band released an album called Concrete And Gold in September and will be touring to support the album in 2018. The Foo Fighters are a common sight in sketches anytime they are on as musical guests on the show, a tradition that will likely continue on this episode.
