How to Watch Game of Thrones Online

When it comes to epic fantasies, very few TV shows can beat the Emmy Awarding series, Game of Thrones. It is one of the most watched and spoken about TV shows on HBO (R). What’s more, what started as a vivid and exciting TV adaption of George RR Martin’s book has now grown to what can be safely described as a movement.

If you have not watched Game of Thrones yet, you are definitely missing out. Fortunately, there are several ways to catch up on all 7 seasons of Game of Thrones. So, if you have been wondering why your friends keep talking about Jon Snow, now is a perfect chance to find out.

The Game of Thrones exclusively airs on the HBO network. If you are not subscribed to HBO, no need to worry, there are other alternatives for non-HBO, GOT fans. Luckily, we are going to cover those alternatives here as well.

HBO has two online streaming services, HBO GO and HBO Now. Both are paid subscriptions.

HBO Go streams full episodes (R) of Game of Thrones on a computer or mobile device. The only catch here is that you have to be subscribed to a cable TV provider. There are plenty of cable TV providers including Time Warner Cable, Comcast, or Charter. Note that only two people can stream HBO content from a shared account at any given time.

Unlike HBO Go, HBO Now does not require a cable subscription to view its programs. This is HBO’s answer for cord cutters and anyone searching for a credible streaming website for Game of Thrones episodes. HBO Now allows you to sign up for an online account and watch any content you want anytime you want.

It costs about $15 a month to be an HBO Now subscriber. Alternatively, there is the 7-day free trial offer for those who want to dip their toes first before committing to a regular paid subscription. The 7-day free trial allows you to watch both old and new episodes of Game of Thrones before the trial period is over. Make sure you cancel your subscription if you do not want to be billed for the subsequent months.

Sling TV

This is the closest option to HBO in terms of live streaming. You can watch Game of Thrones live on Sling TV the same time it is airing on cable TV. A Sling TV subscription costs $20 a month on the minimum. Afterwards, you will have to pay $15 to add HBO to your package and enjoy episodes of Game of Thrones.

Fortunately, there is a free 7-day trial offer before committing to a subscription plan. This grants you access to full HD episodes of Game of Thrones on the go. In Addition, a paid subscription gives you access to more channels including Starz, AMC, Showtime, Bravo, and ESPN.

DirecTV works as either a stand-alone online streaming channel or a cable subscription that provides access to HBO. DirecTV is a paid subscription service starting at $35 a month. Adding HBO to your package will only cost $5 which is cheaper compared to Sling TV.

Since DirecTV is owned by AT&T, those subscribed to the mobile service provider can enjoy a discounted offer for HBO. An existing AT&T customer only needs to pay $25 for DirecTV (R)subscription with HBO as a free additional package. If you do not have AT&T, subscribe for the 7-day free trial of DirecTV and get HBO for free.

Digital Downloads

Digital downloads are a last resort for fans of Game of Thrones who cannot access online streaming services. You can download full episodes of Game of Thrones from Google Play, Amazon Video, or iTunes. It should cost $2 for a standard definition video and $3 for the high definition one.

Digital downloads work on both iOS and Android mobile devices. Game of Thrones episodes can also be downloaded to PlayStation 3 and 4, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Xbox, Samsung TV, Chromecast, and Sony TV.

DVD and Blu-Ray

It takes about a year for Game of Thrones episodes to be available on DVD and Blue-Ray after they have been aired on TV. If you do not mind the long wait, you can stay put until an entire season is over so you can binge watch on the DVDs.

Game of Thrones is one of those unique epic fantasy TV shows with an unpredictable plot and plenty of suspense to leave you anticipating the next season. Season 7 of Game of Thrones is upon us. Episode 1 of season 7 premieres on July 16, 2017.  Do not be left out this time.
