How To Watch The 2018 Golden Globe Awards Online Without Cable


This year’s award season opens once again with Hollywood’s much-awaited annual party, The Golden Globes. These annual accolades have been bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association to recognize the excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign, since 1943 and in 2018, the 75th award show will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California this weekend! The Details About The Golden Globe Awards

When: Sunday, January 7th at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Channel: NBC

This three-hour ceremony will be preceded by the red carpet arrivals. This year, the glitz show will be hosted by the American late-night show host, Seth Meyers, succeeding Jimmy Fallon who hosted the Golden Globes last year.


The nominees of these awards are selected based on the votes of the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Star presenters of the Globes for this year have been announced by the association. The list includes famous celebrities including:

The 2018 Golden Globe Award Nominees

With the list of nominees announced on December 11, 2017, the film The Shape Of Water tops the list for being nominated for seven different categories, competing with the previous year’s star movie La La Land. The movies The Post, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing and Missouri stand second in the list with six nominations each.

In the category of television series, the globally popular Game Of Thrones and Stanger Things are among the nominations. For the category of Best Director for Motion picture:

  • Christopher Nolan for Dunkirk,
  • Guillermo del Toro for The Shape Of Water, and
  • Martin McDonagh for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

are some of the nominees. Some of the nominees of Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy are The Disaster Artist and Get Out. The list includes various nominees for the other categories.


The Cecil B. DeMille Award for 2018 will be bestowed upon Oprah Winfrey for her ‘outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment’.

The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and producer of the Golden Globe Awards, Meher Tatna, had warm words for Winfrey.
“As a global media leader, philanthropist, producer and actress, she has created an unparalleled connection with people around the world, making her one of the most respected and admired figures today.” Tatna added, “For generations, Oprah has celebrated strong female characters on and off screen, and has been a role model for women and young girls for decades.”

Every year, the Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be aired by NBC as it is the official broadcaster of the event. The streaming rights to the award show, however, are solely held by the association and this year they have granted these to NBC also.

PlayStation Vue

With YouTube TV you pay $35/month over 50 channels. This includes network channels like NBC, CBS, FOX, and ABC. Additionally you get IFC (for the movie fan) and plenty of options for the sports fan.
