Sling TV Includes CuriosityStream As An Add-On

On December 7th, 2017 Sling TV expanded its A La Carte TV catalog by adding CuriosityStream, UP Faith & Family and PANTAYA as integrated on-demand channels. Sling TV is the first live and on-demand streaming service to offer these channels and they are very proud to add them. The new channels are now available for $6/month as individual add-ons to subscribers of:

  • Sling Orange
  • Sling Blue
  • Spanish-language, or
  • International services

The new channels are excellent for any who is into unique, interest-specific entertainment options.

Vice president of content acquisition and strategy at Sling TV, Ankit Bishnoi, gave a statement and said, “We are committed to providing our customers with the most flexible programming options at the best value.” He Added, “The a la carte additions of CuriosityStream, UP Faith & Family and PANTAYA to our robust on-demand catalog ensures that the diverse interests of our customers are met. The ability to tailor your programming to your taste is why more people continue to switch to Sling TV.”

The addition of CuriosityStream, UP Faith & Family and PANTAYA add more than 3,000 titles to Sling TV’s on-demand library. When you add that to the current catalog of over 50,000 you have an amazing amount of options. Eligible subscribers will receive a free preview of the new channels through Dec. 13, 2017. Additional on-demand content from all three channels will be revealed as the week progresses. Once the add-ons are purchased, the new channels will appear in the channel guide.

What Is CuriosityStream?

CuriosityStream is an ad-free subscriber-based video on demand service. This streaming service was launched by the creator of the Discovery Channel, John S. Hendricks, on March 18, 2015, and offers its users over 1,500 original and licensed titles. Furthermore, the company launched internationally on September 29, 2015. In addition to this, users can stream nearly 600 hours of nonfiction media. It focuses on delivering nonfiction content such as documentaries. CuriosityStream features content covering:

  • science
  • technology
  • history, and
  • nature

CuriosityStream has three levels of service with pricing up to $11.99/month. Their content includes a catalog of high-quality 4K content.

In December of 2015, Amazon Prime started offering CuriosityStream as part of its new add-on subscription service. The team-up with Amazon is a separate subscription from CuriosityStream’s main plan in that it will only be accessible through Amazon Prime’s platforms. Furthermore it is only available to Amazon Prime members.
