The 2018 Genesis Open (What To Expect And How To Watch Online)


Some of the biggest names in golf have descended on Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles for one of the PGA Tour’s most underrated events. The 2018 Genesis Open will feature a number of the sports best like Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Phil Mickelson. Oh, and one more golfer you may have heard of – TIGER WOODS. Woods has recovered from a multitude of injuries and looks the best he has in years. Will it be enough for a top 20 finish at Riviera?


As far as non-major PGA Tour events, this one should be the best of the year. Not only just for the Tiger factor, but because so many of the world’s best will be playing on an absolutely beautiful course. Featuring five different Par-5s and one of the toughest 18th holes in the game, Riviera is as challenging as it is majestic.  The Genesis Open (then called the Los Angeles Open) was first played in 1926 and Riviera has hosted the tournament every year since 1999. Dustin Johnson pocketed $1.26 million by winning last year’s tournament and this year the winner’s prize has been upped to $1.3 million (with a $7.2 million total purse).

Predictions For The 2018 Genesis Open


According to online sportsbook Bovada, last year’s winner Dustin Johnson is the favorite in the field at +400 (implied winning probability of 20%), followed by Jordan Spieth (+800, 11%) and newcomer Justin Thomas (+1200, 7.6%).
