How to Watch A Christmas Story Live! Online

Many people who grew up in the 80s or 90s have fond memories of Ralphie and the gang from the film “A Christmas Story”. Red Rider BB Guns, getting your tongue stuck to poles, and shooting your eye out are all iconic parts of this story that nearly anybody associates with this holiday favorite, and it brings fond memories to many hearts and minds.

Background on A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story is a film that was created in 1983. It was written by Jean Shepard, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark. Bob Clark also directed it. The movie was based on a 1966 novel by Jean Shepard titled In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash.

The main story follows young Ralphie Parker as he remembers Christmas from the year that he was nine-years-old. More than anything he wanted a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. To his dismay everyone was against this wish since BB guns were dangerous and he could “put an eye out”.

As the story progresses there are many memorable moments that unfold.

Fox looks to replicate this feeling for a new generation of viewers, with a live musical adaptation of the popular A Christmas Story. While it is possible to view this musical extravaganza live on Fox as it happens live December 17th on cable, many people would prefer other alternatives to view the special.

The following are various methods in which you can do just that by streaming A Christmas Story Live! online, allowing you to kick your cable company in the face like an aggravated mall Santa.

A Christmas Story Live! will air Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox.

How to Stream “A Christmas Story Live!”

Here is a rundown of the many services that you can utilize to watch A Christmas Story Live! plus many other of your favorite shows and specials. These options give you the ability to watch on your TV rather than on a tablet or mobile device.

For those that are looking for a streaming alternative that does not require a cable subscription, there is Sling TV. Sling TV is very similar to cable in that you are able to choose various channel packages for viewing, but is both cheaper than cable and can be viewed from anywhere!

If you have a laptop, Android, iPhone, Fire Stick, Roku, or nearly any other connected device, you will be able to sign-up for SlingTV and watch the live musical when it airs on cable. Keep in mind, however, that not all channels or programs are available for every area, so make sure that you will be able to watch the live spectacle before you decide on signing up.

DirecTV Now

While known more for its satellite cable services, DirecTV has broken ground in the online streaming world as well with its DirecTV Now app. This streaming app allows users access to many of the programs and channels that they normally would through DirecTV’s cable service, but at a cheaper price and with added features.

DirecTV Now offers a Free 7-Day Trial if you want to see what they have to offer.

Hulu With Live TV

FOX is included with a subscription to Hulu Live. You also get live Network channels like ABC, CBS, NBC. The total package is over 50 channels for $39.99 per month. Additionally you get access to the full Hulu streaming catalog and the ability to store up to 50 hours of content on a cloud DVR. If you want to try it out before you buy, they offer a 7-day free trial.

Based on the fact that the service usually airs Fox programming the day after it airs on TV, it stands to reason that there is a good chance it may end up there. If you currently have the Hulu streaming service on your connected device, then keep an eye out on December 18 to see if you are able to stream “A Christmas Story Live!” on demand!
